The Institute was started in 1994 to further the understanding of how societies change, and to help equip those fighting to change society with that knowledge . We stand on the threshold of a marvelous new world made possible by a profound technological revolution, the same technological revolution that is destabilizing capitalism and generating unprecedented levels of unemployment, homelessness, and militarism.
